About The Position

ABM , a leading provider of integrated facility solutions, is seeking a Building Engineer . The Building Engineer is responsible for supporting the daily operations and maintenance of all building systems. Key duties include performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and handling basic carpentry and metal work as needed. The Building Engineer will also respond to service requests, manage work orders from start to completion, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with inspections, monitoring system performance, and performing other tasks as assigned. Pay: $ 30.00 - $35.00/hour The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems to minimize downtime. Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards. Respond promptly to work orders and customer service requests. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs. Assist with basic carpentry, painting, and metal work as needed. Support energy efficiency initiatives and monitor system performance. Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and local codes. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Minimum Requirements: Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance or engineering. Technical Skills: Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals. Certifications EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred. Additional trade certifications (electrical, plumbing, boiler) a plus. Other Requirements Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights. Availability for on-call and emergency response as needed.
