What a Typical Day Could Look Like As a Building Engineer, you're a leader and mentor in our community, ensuring that our property operates at peak performance and exceeds the expectations of our residents. You're not just fixing things; you're proactively preventing issues, optimizing systems, and leading a team to maintain the highest standards of excellence. You are the Property Perfectionist! Ensure the property, inside and out, is always immaculate and reflects the luxury standards of our community! Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential issues before they become problems! Participate in the on-call rotation, responding to after-hour emergencies with a can-do attitude! You are the Organized Leader! Manage the maintenance budget with a keen eye, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements! Oversee the procurement of maintenance materials and supplies, ensuring we have the right resources at the right time! Lead and mentor Assistant Building Engineers, fostering their growth and expertise! You are a Versatile Pro! Oversee the operation and maintenance of all building systems, ensuring they function flawlessly and efficiently! Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs that extend the life and performance of our valuable assets!

Requirements

  • 6-7 years of experience in building maintenance and engineering, with a focus on luxury high-rise properties.
  • Advanced knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and fire safety.
  • NFPA 25 and EPA 608 or similar certifications for fire suppression system and HVAC maintenance.
  • Proven experience in responding to resident service requests and performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA safety rules and regulations, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Excellent customer service and a positive resident experience focused mentality, with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with discerning residents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, flexibility, and a commitment to achieving results.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively address resident concerns and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, ensuring that all maintenance and engineering operations are completed efficiently and on schedule.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with no major infractions in the last 12 months.
