GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for addressing daily maintenance needs to ensure facilities and grounds are operational, clean, secure and compliant with health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of two years of building engineer or maintenance work.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Knowledge of HVAC, fire safety, electrical, plumbing and other facility related systems.
  • Knowledge of building automation and energy management systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other safety policies and procedures.
  • Skilled in exercising initiative, judgment, troubleshooting, problem solving and decision-making.
  • Must be highly organized, but flexible and able to adjust priorities.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Must possess strong active listening skills.
  • Must be highly professional and maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to work in both a team setting and independently.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk or stoop for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Ability to climb ladders or stairs.
  • Must have adequate visual acuity to read, the ability to interpret and understand written material and assess the quality of work.
  • Must have adequate hearing and speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others, including patients and co-workers.

  • Technical or trade school certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work timely and efficiently to respond to work order requests and prioritize them accordingly.
  • Perform general handyman duties such as, moving office furniture/equipment, assembling/repairing office furniture, hanging, minor drywall work, painting and cleaning.
  • Responsible for diagnosing and making basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other miscellaneous repairs as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Escalate complex jobs to technicians through support of Facilities Manager.
  • Serve as a liaison for vendors and tradesmen fulfilling specific tasks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with leadership team within each facility.
  • Conduct routine inspections of facility grounds to ensure walkways and spaces are clean and orderly.
  • Prepare building and grounds for inclement weather.
  • Maintain organization and storage of building supplies.
  • Maintain records on maintenance activities and MEP work.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in preventative maintenance.
  • Oversee building automation and controls for energy management systems.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are up to standard, complying with all health and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure work by contractors are being addressed and completed to standard.
  • Able to address after hours emergencies.
  • Additional duties as required.
