The Facility Services Group specializes in facility solutions, building systems integration, specialized construction, and facility management. Our team provides best-in-class operational solutions with technical knowledge and subject matter experts of building systems, envelopes, campus, and client operations. Position Description: The Building Engineer II is responsible for the timely completion of necessary maintenance activities and supervising the facility maintenance team and trade partners.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Three (3) years' experience in commercial or industrial environment with increasing responsibility for leading daily building operations and/or a combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced mechanical and carpentry skills.
  • Three (3) years' experience with HVAC system maintenance.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment.
  • The ability to read, understand and communicate, both verbally and written.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Basic computer skills such as internet, email, electronic manual, etc.
  • Ability to travel regionally as needed.
  • Mid-level understanding of air conditioning and control systems.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and life safety monitoring and control systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints/CAD drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in a commercial setting.
  • Certification in EPA Type I, II, or III Certification, Universal EPA Certification, or the NATE.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform mid-level predictive and preventative maintenance on mechanical and building systems, including electrical, HVAC, boilers, pumps, motors, valves, and chilled water/heating hot water distribution systems including chillers and cooling towers, filter changes, belt changes, equipment cleaning and equipment painting.
  • Maintain ancillary building systems necessary to keep systems operating at peak performance with minimal downtime.
  • Inspect equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions and correct in accordance with code and best industry practices.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend upgrades to ensure building is compliant and up-to code.
  • Monitor and complete mid-level service requests.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports which include estimating materials, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Remain current with industry standards, best practices, and new technology.
  • Mentor, lead, and manage Building Engineer I to ensure career growth and progression.
