About The Position
GDS Associates, Inc. has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a motivated individual in the Building Energy Services Department. This entry-level position is designed for candidates who have a basic understanding of home building and construction practices, along with a strong interest in energy-efficient residential construction, including both single-family and multifamily dwellings. The role offers significant growth potential for those who demonstrate the necessary skills and commitment. In this position, you will be responsible for tracking the energy efficiency features of new homes through visual verification, reviewing construction plans to calculate conditioned floor area and volume, and conducting mid-construction insulation and air-sealing inspections. You will also perform diagnostic testing and document results upon final inspection. A key aspect of the role involves providing in-field technical training and support to builders and subcontractors, focusing on improving energy performance, health, and durability of new residential buildings. Maintaining strong relationships with builders, architects, and property owners is essential to the success of this role. GDS Associates, Inc. is a growing, dynamic, multi-faceted engineering and consulting firm that provides energy consulting services to architects, builders, and owners of new homes. The Northeast Region office is responsible for energy code support and energy efficiency program support through inspections and diagnostic testing, including blower door testing and the delivery of Home Energy Ratings (HERS Ratings). Our specialists promote healthy, durable, and energy-efficient homes through plan review, analysis, inspections, and testing throughout the construction process.
