About The Position

The Building Deputy & Administrative Support position at Purdue University is a full-time role within the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources. The individual will act as the FNR Safety Coordinator, ensuring compliance with safety protocols while also handling various administrative tasks to support faculty and staff.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 years of building facility and administrative/secretarial experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Adobe, Delivra
  • Knowledge of web applications such as SharePoint or cascade
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn new software programs
  • Knowledge of building operations and general safety policies and procedures
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Telephone etiquette and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess building conditions, submit work orders, maintain preparedness plans, and be on call to address building emergencies
  • Work with building services and physical facilities staff to ensure proper maintenance of the building
  • Perform data entry from extension workshops or feedback evaluations
  • Assist with and prepare, coordinate or setup for numerous workshops, meetings and conferences
  • Provide occasional support for FNR Lab managers and field facilities managers
  • Coordinate delivery of 3-4 CPR and first aid training courses for faculty, staff and students each year
  • Reserve, schedule, maintain and coordinate billing for use of departmental vehicle fleet
  • Additional duties as assigned
