About The Position

The position involves performing custodial maintenance and cleaning within the school building, ensuring that the environment is kept in an acceptable condition. The role requires semi-skilled work in cleaning and maintenance tasks, contributing to the overall upkeep of the school facilities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of custodial experience preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and appropriate use of supplies and equipment
• Ability to operate various equipment used for cleaning floors and carpets
• Must be able to understand and follow directions both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Perform work necessary to maintain the building and grounds in an acceptable condition
• Clean light fixtures, windows, walls, furniture, bleachers, blinds, and stadium
• Utilize various equipment for scrubbing, buffing, and waxing floors
• Clean, disinfect, and restock assigned restrooms
• Prepare for and clean up after events scheduled in the school building during the day and/or at night
• Operate carpet cleaning and maintenance equipment
• Move furniture and equipment within the building as required for various activities as directed by head custodian or principal
• Maintain appearance of grounds, including shrubs, grass, parking areas, and drives
• Respond to staff requests/concerns in a timely manner
• Perform minor repairs as may be required
• Perform other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
