About The Position

The Building Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, repair, and overall upkeep of the school building and grounds. This role supports the educational objectives of the institution by ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff. The custodian will perform seasonal grounds work and adhere to safety procedures while executing general duties as assigned by the Principal or designated authorities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior custodial work experience, preferably in a public school setting.
• Knowledge of effective cleaning techniques and routine preventative maintenance.
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Physical and mental capabilities to perform the required work.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the building and grounds.
• Perform repair and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Support the educational objectives of the building.
• Ensure the health and safety of occupants.
• Conduct seasonal grounds work, including snow removal and lawn care.
