About The Position

The Building Construction Program Manager 1 (NY HELPS) position involves assisting in managing and coordinating medium and large-scale site construction projects for client agencies. The role includes managing simple site construction projects for small client agencies, ensuring that assigned program responsibilities or projects meet client requirements and are completed within time limitations and funding allocations determined by the client and the Division of the Budget. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

• Six years of experience in multi-trade building construction projects, including one year of managing multiple building construction projects.
• Experience managing multi-trade building construction projects must include responsibility for three or more of the following areas: construction planning, coordination of multiple trades, cost estimating, project scheduling, material purchasing, resource management, and construction document reading and interpretation.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle.

• Degrees in related fields may substitute for experience: Associate's degree (2 years), Bachelor's degree (4 years), Master's degree (5 years), Doctorate degree (6 years).
• Current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service as an Engineer Trainee.
