Job Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt Part-time or Full-time Work Environment: On-site The Building Concierge ensures that every building guest, tenant or occupant experiences excellent customer service and elevated hospitality upon entering the building. The position includes physically greeting and assisting guests at the building’s entrance, and general oversight of the building’s entrance, front desk, 1st floor lobby, 1st floor lounge, and 1st floor common areas, ensuring the comfort and safety of everyone who enters the space. The position may be filled by a single individual or more than one part-time, co-working individuals. The Building Concierge serves as a primary customer service representative of WIF, the building owner, and the building tenants and would likely accompany WIF visitors to the 3rd floor multiple times a day. The Building [TH1.1]Concierge is comfortable pivoting back and forth between tasks throughout the day and personally walks guests to their destination and/or prepares and serves them refreshments from the nearby kitchen area. The Building Concierge reflects casual elegance, positive spirit, exceptional first impressions, and a desire to make people’s day. He/she is comfortable providing hospitable greetings, direction as well as service to a variety of building guests such as investors, borrowers, pastors, tenants, tenant guests, ministry leaders, vendors, contractors and any other type of visitor. This position requires embracing adaptability and routines along with being dynamic and energetic in providing customer service. It requires grace in relating with others and the confidence to decisively direct or redirect people and conversations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or certification is a plus).
  • 2+ years as a receptionist, customer service representative, or similar role.
  • Professional attitude and presence.

  • Comfortable sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to briskly walk building guests to their destination as appropriate or respond to emergency situations.
  • Capable to periodically lift and move packages up to 40 lbs.
  • Assist visitors, including those with mobility issues, in arriving to their destination.

  • Pursues personal spiritual growth and connection within a local church.

Responsibilities

  • Thoughtfully steward each impression of any person who enters the headquarters building of the Wesleyan Investment Foundation.
  • Provide qualified visitors with appropriate information about the building, WIF, tenants, common areas, and amenities.
  • Greet visitors warmly, while vetting them and the purpose of their visit.
  • Occasionally serve as a backup to the Office Receptionist on the 3rd Floor.
  • Coordinate reception desk coverage and collaboratively administer work schedules with any other Building Concierge.
  • Monitor who is granted access to the building, as well as individual suites.
  • Immediately contact the appropriate suite upon guest arrivals.
  • Walk building visitors, vendors, and contractors to their destination.
  • For security and experience purposes, build relationships and strong rapport with the building occupants, guests, couriers, and guests.
  • Monitor security cameras [KK3.1][TH3.2]for building traffic flow in collaboration with other building staff.
  • Manage the building mail room at the direction of the Office Manager, including but not limited to directing couriers to the mail room and appropriate mailbox, receiving mail, sorting mail, and distributing mail into tenants and their mailboxes, as needed.
  • Receive incoming courier packages (e.g., UPS, USPS, FedEx, Amazon), including signing and notifying the recipient to pick up their package(s) as well as managing the smart locker parcel system and secure package room.
  • Manage the supply inventory for the reception area and mail room.
  • Submit building maintenance requests through the work order system, as needed.
  • Administer content for the 1st floor display TVs per the Director of Brand & Experience.
  • Assist in monitoring the use, scheduling and access of common amenities (e.g., conference rooms, lounge, fitness club, kitchenette, mother’s room).
  • Confidently understand the building’s security infrastructure and participate as a key member of the Building Emergency Response Team.
  • Co-administer the background music for the building common areas in collaboration with the Office Receptionist.
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned by the Office Receptionist or Vice President of Investments & Operations.
