Perform on-site construction inspections to ensure compliance with adopted codes, approved plans, and specifications Perform in-depth safety plan reviews for all new construction and renovation projects for facilities associated with UF Prepare written reports approving or rejecting construction plans in accordance with the adopted codes Approve installation of materials and methods for compliance with adopted codes Make decisions as to code interpretations in area of expertise Represent the department in area of expertise to various groups, such as architects and/or engineers, contractors, or subcontractors Licensed in two or more disciplines as a building, plumbing, mechanical, fire safety, or electrical inspector Licensed as a building, plumbing, mechanical, fire or electrical plans reviewer by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Post-offer health assessment required Valid Florida driver license required NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM 40 hours/week Travel to and from inspection site locations This position is designated as an Essential Employee for the University, as the employee’s response immediately following an emergency event in which the continuation of critical and essential services is needed.
