About The Position

The Field Representative III is mainly responsible for consulting with clients to conduct, analyze, and document community adoption of building and other construction codes, overseeing plan reviews, and ensuring quality and timeliness of services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience is preferred, along with at least one year of building code experience or knowledge. Hands-on field experience conducting detailed analyses is strongly favored.
• Satisfactory completion of company-provided training or an equivalent program is required, along with proven ability to carry out all fieldwork tasks associated with this level.
• Ability to observe, examine, measure, analyze, map, gather data, and describe all aspects of a community's building code enforcement and safely operate a vehicle to and from all sites. This will involve occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs. and regular climbing of stairs and ladders, working in all types of neighborhoods and environments. It may be necessary to drive a vehicle for extended periods of time. Must have ability to travel in and out of state, including air travel, in accordance with business needs.
• Good customer service and one-on-one interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate ideas and concepts clearly and provide constructive feedback. Ability to conduct on-the-job training. Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience that demonstrate proficiency in using personal computers and Microsoft applications.
• Valid driver's license and maintenance of a satisfactory driving record in accordance with company policies are required. Additionally, overnight travel-both in and out of state-may be necessary.

Nice To Haves

• One or more professional designations, such as CBO, ICC, CFPS, CSP, ARM, ALCM, NFPA, or CPCU, are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consults with clients to conduct, analyze and document results of communities' adoption of building and other construction codes and amendments, building plan review, policies and procedures and building department operations, staffing, training, workload and staff certification.
• Manages verifications in the office and in the field and plans trips to ensure efficient, cost effective and timely completion of work.
• Maintains corporate standards of quality, timeliness, productivity and customer service.
• May serve as a mentor and trainer to less experienced staff as needed.
• Maintains CHM equipment and supplies in accordance with Verisk policies.
• Completes all responsibilities as outlined in the annual Performance Plan.
• Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
