About The Position

Building-based Substitute Teacher - Temporary through end of the 2025-2026 school year. The Lincoln Public Schools is looking for an individual to be a Temporary Building-Based Substitute for the rest of the 2025-2026 school year. You will be assigned to work at the Hanscom 5-8 school. The position is daily, from 7:50-3:00, which allows the position to support dismissal starting at 2:55. Employees may be asked to work past dismissal on Wednesdays (12:35 p.m.). You will report to the main office each day and be assigned to cover for a teacher or paraprofessional when they are absent. As much as is possible, you will know ahead of time which schedule and teacher you will be covering. Duties: Assigned to rotate into various teaching positions in the school on a daily basis and possibly throughout the day Implement teacher lesson plans and administrator directives with fidelity and efficiency Communicate with classroom teachers or school administrators regarding expectations for student work, behavior, and lesson execution Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all students and staff. Ensure the teacher’s absence does not cause an interruption in classroom instruction Gain familiarity with district curriculum and resources Perform supervisory duties as assigned (such as lunch, bus, or recess duty) Abide by state statutes, school committee policies and regulations Perform duties and responsibilities as assigned by principal or designee Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Maintain confidentiality regarding students and staff personnel information Be a positive role model for students, support the mission of the District Ability to be flexible with job assignments as needed Daily per diem $127.13 - this is a temporary, full-time position.
