Requirements

Minimum 5 years HVAC service/installation experience with solid controls exposure (Siemens, Johnson Controls, etc)
Experience with building automation, DDC/BAS/BMS systems or controls logic (programming, commissioning, troubleshooting)
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and system schematics
Proficiency with diagnostics tools and software
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Valid driver’s license + reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

Experience with platforms like Tridium/Niagara, Metasys, Distech, Siemens, Johnson Controls, or similar
Understanding of BACnet, Modbus, IP networking in building systems
Familiarity with energy optimization and trend analysis
HVAC or controls certifications (vendor or industry)
Curious and analytical — you ask “why” and find solutions
Comfortable with both mechanical and digital systems
Strong communicator in field and office environments
Adaptive and ready to thrive in mission-critical facilities

Responsibilities

System Installation & Commissioning Install and configure BMS hardware and software Wire controllers, sensors, actuators and ensure correct field integration Commission systems and verify sequences meet design requirements
Controls Logic & Optimization Modify and enhance control logic and setpoints for performance Configure trends, alarms, and reporting for efficient operation Validate inter-system communication (BACnet, Modbus, IP-networks)
Troubleshooting & Repair Diagnose hardware, software, network, and sensor failures Resolve communication errors and field device performance issues Support HVAC field techs with controls-related diagnostics
Monitoring & Reporting Pull trend data and generate insights for operations and energy savings Maintain accurate documentation and as-built control drawings Validate compliance with safety, energy, and operational standards
Customer & Team Support Liaise with clients, engineers, PMs, subcontractors, and vendors Train facility staff on system basics and alarm response Relay field findings to engineering teams for continuous improvement
