About The Position

Schneider Electric is looking for a Building Automation Technician for the Pleasanton, CA area. This position is a field-based position where you may perform any number of roles. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers in delivery of any of the following project components: System design/review, Software, Installation, Startup, Commissioning, Owner training.

Requirements

  • Two-year (2) degree in a related technical field required or related work experience.
  • Experience in the Building Automation field.
  • Experience in the HVAC controls industry, preferably with troubleshooting, maintenance, and service.
  • Technical, hands-on experience with commissioning and programming of DDC controls.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Experience with Schneider Electric EcoStruxure BAS is a plus.
  • Ability to operate independently and autonomously and take ownership of all tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and team-oriented.
  • Proficient with writing code for controller sequence of operations.
  • Proficient with integration protocols (BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and repairs complex control systems malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems and ability to test and write modifications in multiple languages of systems software.
  • Implement databases, controls sequences, programs, and graphics for new construction and retrofit projects.
  • Provides start-up and checkout documentation to the installation team for use in commissioning and validation.
  • Organize and demonstrate required BAS project sequences to meet commissioning agents' requirements.
  • Commission controls installation and verifies that control sequences meet specifications.
  • Provides sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and as-built drawings.
