About The Position

Join our Siemens Smart Buildings Internship Program as a Building Automation Systems Project Management Intern in Summer 2026! This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management within the building automation sector. You will rotate through various departments at our local branch office, focusing on smart buildings and sustainable infrastructure. The internship lasts for 10 weeks, with full-time hours of 40 hours per week. You will be involved in project management-related activities, sales, and service departments, gaining valuable insights into how our branch organization operates as a whole.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment as an undergraduate at an accredited 4-year U.S. college or university
  • Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Energy/Sustainability, or Built Environment
  • Rising Junior or Senior, graduating between May 2027 – May 2028
  • Ability to work 40-hours per week for the 10-week program (May - July or June - August)
  • No relocation or housing stipend provided
  • This program does not support students on a Visa such as F1, J1, M1 and H1B as well as OPT/CPT

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
  • Skilled in using Windows laptops and adept at learning new software for programming and troubleshooting automation equipment
  • Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to customers
  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Strong analytical, writing, presentation, and critical thinking skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and project-specific documents to establish a project delivery plan
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule, coordinating needs with the project team
  • Manage the procurement of supplies and materials to complete projects
  • Participate in project cost reviews
  • Track labor resources and project progress
  • Pursue project-specific change-order opportunities
  • Complete project-specific close-out documentation
  • Rotate through other departments within the branch office

Benefits

  • Hourly pay range of $24 per hour for first-time interns or $28 per hour for returning interns
