This position is part of an BAE Systems ES Facilities Central Building Automation Team supporting sites across ES Facilities footprint, reporting to the BAS-IT Infrastructure and Networking Manager that is part of the Central BAS team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform advanced BAS troubleshooting and repairs to critical BAS infrastructure in high pressure environments. They will be joining a high performing team of technicians and engineers who specialize in quick response / disaster recovery support. Collaborate with stakeholders. Building automation technicians work closely with Building Owners, Facility Managers, Project Managers, Internal Technical Review Board, Sustainability, as well as other stakeholders to understand existing conditions to help determine their needs and goals to align with the ES BAS standards, provide technical support, and or suggest improvements / upgrades to their existing systems. Internal team collaboration with Central BAS Leadership, Support and Integration Engineer, Clockworks Analytics Program Manager and others to ensure our Facilities across the sector are performing at optimal levels. Support the installation and configuration of Supervisory Stations, Network or Unitary control devices, meters or other BAS / IOT related equipment that requires integration to the site's existing architecture, where there may be no internal resources to support. Provides support to local contractors when those on premises, are performing supporting efforts to the site's BAS. In most instances, these efforts will be supported remotely by the BAS Tech remotely. Validate and advise sites on their BAS systems. Provide guidance and support on maintenance programs that are needed to maintain a healthy BAS. Monitor system performance. Identifying areas for improvement, recommended upgrades to optimize performance, networks are communicating, settings are optimized for energy efficiency and occupant comfort. Work with local teams to ensure awareness. Identify and strategize methods with stakeholders and Central BAS Leadership team on areas identified for improvement or repair Identify and work with sites that do not have in house resources to perform these efforts. Collaboration amongst the Central BAS Team and site Facilities Leadership teams, to coordinate regular maintenance tasks on the building automation system that, including updating licensing, or software. Provide remote training and support where needed. Central BAS team technicians may provide training and support to end users or operators of the building automation system, ensuring that they are familiar with the system's features and functionalities. The selected candidate will need to maintain their knowledge in the Building Automation Systems field and will be looked upon to continuously improve their skills and knowledge thru training (virtual and on premises), as well as attending or participating in trades shows / workshops / webinars that pertain to their discipline. Document and report all activity regarding site specific support. Retention to be in a designated folder in the Central BAS team shared space. All requests for support need to be formally submitted via Maximo to the BAS Technical Services Manager, direct comms to supporting tech is encouraged once formality of request is recognized. Graphics Standards. Ensure the user has a high-quality experience. Assist local team with organizing graphics database or with team's desire to enhance or upgrade their site's graphical representation. BAS technicians are responsible for following the company's policies and procedures, including safety protocols, quality standards, and customer service guidelines. They are also to ensure that the building automation system complies with safety and regulatory standards, including electrical codes, fire protection codes, and energy efficiency standards. This role will include a percentage of travel, the amount to be determined.

Requirements

  • 6+ yr with HS
  • 4+ yrs with AA
  • 2+ yrs with BS
  • Ability to get a secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Niagara 4 certification.
  • Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, Line Code Programming
  • Ability to get a secret clearance.
  • Troubleshoot electromechanical systems, pc workstations, PLC's.
  • Troubleshoot various types of graphical and line program code.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, Metering, A.F.D.D., IT / Networking.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and standards.
