As a CBRE Automation System Engineer, you will supervise a team that handles the operation and maintenance of all Building Automation Systems primarily using Metasys. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing hand on support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. Free parking and within walking distance to MBTA station. Hours: M-F Days. This role will include some local travel to client sites within the Cambridge area.

  • Coordinate daily activities within Building Automation Systems.
  • Maintain a total facilities systems management program including all electrical, mechanical, life, and safety systems.
  • Review assigned work orders. Estimate time, and resources, and order materials to complete.
  • Demonstrate strong customer services skills.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance tasks on low voltage controls hardware.
  • Work closely with HVAC Mechanics and Controls Contractors for process resolutions.
  • Participate in department related programs and activities including incident investigations, interviews, auditing, and assessment.
  • Keep up with client Life Sciences training and procedures.
  • Inspect systems to ensure the operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves operational conditions prescribed by the client.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Identify, tackle, and fix day-to-day and moderately complex issues that may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.
  • 3-5 years of validated experience in Building Automation.
  • In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • JCI Metasys experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in building automation systems is required.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering and automation processes.
  • Previous Facilities experience.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Knowledge of standard practices of the HVAC trade.
  • Ability to guide the exchange of critical, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive attitude.
  • Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
