About The Position

NIKA is hiring for a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician who will be responsible for the on-site Project Management of Muirkirk Road Complex (MRC) in Laurel, Maryland! This position is pending per contract award and start date is TBD once approved. Requirements

OSHA 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health (minimum)
Associate's degree in Electronics, Control Systems, Instrumentation, or related field OR Technical/trade school certificate in BAS/controls plus 2 years additional experience OR High school diploma/GED plus 5 years controls experience
Minimum 5 years documented experience with HVAC control systems
Experience with laboratory and animal research facility controls
Experience with air handler units (AHUs), exhaust fans, biosafety cabinets, fume hoods
Experience with 24/7 operated facilities
Experience with facilities 250,000+ SF
Honeywell Tridium Niagara framework experience required
Experience with system programming, graphics, and adding equipment
Documented experience on resume with verifiable references
Ability to obtain and maintain a Clearance Access Card (CAC)
U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities

Maintain and manage Building Automation System (BAS) for MRC
Check, monitor, maintain, and install BAS devices for HVAC, fume hoods, exhaust fans, lighting, pumps, VFDs, environmental growth rooms
Program and modify BAS graphics and control sequences
Add new points and devices to BAS system
Read and modify system blueprints and schematics
Create hardware schedules for projects, renovations, and new construction
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of process control systems
Respond to BAS alarms and failures promptly
Perform system backups and database management
Integrate new equipment into BAS
Generate trend logs and performance reports from BAS
Train operations staff on BAS usage
Coordinate with IT on network connectivity issues
Maintain BAS documentation (as-builts, programming, graphics)
Be on-site minimum 3 days per week per task order requirements
Support 24/7 operations with on-call availability
