About The Position

The Building Automation Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building automation systems, including HVAC, lighting, and security systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems and a commitment to ensuring the optimal operation of our facilities. This role is crucial in supporting our mission by maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
  • Low Voltage Certification (e.g., Electrical Contractor License, Low Voltage Technician Certification) is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in building automation systems, with a focus on low voltage systems.
  • Proven experience with HVAC control systems, lighting controls, and security systems.
  • Strong knowledge of building automation technologies and low voltage electrical systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call shifts, as needed.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting equipment and working in various environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and calibrate building automation systems, including HVAC controls, lighting controls, and security systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and system upgrades to ensure the reliability and efficiency of building automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair faults in automated systems, including diagnosing and resolving issues with wiring, sensors, and control panels.
  • System Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency and performance.
  • Analyze system data and reports to identify trends and implement improvements.
  • Work closely with other facilities staff to ensure seamless integration of automation systems with overall building operations.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
  • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for system operations and procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and facilities staff to address complex issues and improve system performance.
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding system status, issues, and updates.
  • Provide training and support to other team members as needed.
