About The Position

This position is open until filled. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. OBJECTIVE To perform rink resurfacing, maintenance, and janitorial tasks at the PrimeWest Health Runestone Community Center (RCC). Work schedules are part-time (up to 29 hours per week), primarily evenings and weekends. SUPERVISION RECEIVED & EXERCISED Works under the general supervision of the Runestone Community Center Manager No supervision exercised ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an employee must report to work on a timely and regular basis and be able to perform each essential function. Requirements

Ability to perform routine cleaning and housekeeping duties
Ability to use hand and power tools
Knowledge of applicable work hazards and safety precautions
Ability to perform minor operating adjustments and recognize operating deficiencies in assigned equipment
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to perform duties and solve problems according to established policy and procedure
Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner
Ability to professionally exhibit sensitivity, patience and understanding in the course or work duties and work with individuals with a variety of diverse backgrounds
Ability to provide a level of customer service that meets/exceeds customer expectation and satisfaction
High School Diploma
Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

Experience in facility maintenance, janitorial services, or recreation facility operations
Previous experience operating an ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni)

Responsibilities

Operate ice re-surfacing machine to maintain a quality sheet of ice
Performs routine opening duties and closing duties at the RCC
Assists in building supervision and maintenance
Perform general janitorial/cleaning duties as well as general maintenance of facility and grounds maintenance
Clean dasher boards and glass and maintain cleanliness of maintain seating areas, locker rooms and other areas as assigned
Assist with the preparation of facilities for scheduled programs (floor layouts and set up partitions, chairs, stage, etc. as needed)
Assist with public (inquiries, ticket sales, skate rental, skate guard, skate sharpening, crowd control)
Shovel snow as needed
Enforce safety rules and regulations that ensures the facility operates in a safe manner
Monitor all refrigeration equipment and keep necessary records and log books
Assists in monitoring HVAC equipment and other related equipment to ensure proper operation
Attend training and other staff meetings
Adhere to and enforce safety rules and regulations
