The Field Museum Housekeeping Team plays a vital role in maintaining the quality and beauty of our historic building for visitors and staff. The housekeeping team is responsible for ensuring consistently clean, well-maintained areas within the public and administrative areas of the museum.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping/janitorial experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to bend and reach
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability and experience using various tools, products, and equipment
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Ability to maintain a professional and respectful demeanor while working in public and staff areas
Responsibilities
- Vacuuming
- Damp wiping
- Sanitizing bathroom fixtures
- Mopping floors
- Special project work as assigned
