About The Position

The Building and Grounds Assistant (Custodial) provides custodial services and supports events primarily in the Shriver Center. This role involves performing a variety of custodial tasks related to setting up events and maintaining the university's buildings, facilities, and grounds. The working hours for this position are from 11:00 P.M to 6 A.M on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with time off on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. The schedule is determined in advance and may include some Saturday nights.

Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or GED
• No experience required
• May require a driver's license
• Ability to understand and follow directions/room set ups
• Knowledge of the use of cleaning equipment/materials

Responsibilities

• Performs event set ups
• Picks up trash and/or litter from university buildings and grounds
• Empties trash receptacles
• Sweeps and mops rooms and hallways
• Dusts and performs general cleaning of rooms
• Cleans windows
• Vacuums and shampoos carpets
• Strips and waxes floors
• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms
• Picks up and/or delivers equipment and supplies
• Performs cleaning/washing duties
