About The Position

Mach Industries is seeking a Build Engineer to own the transformation of our products from new designs to reality. In this role, you will work closely with the Product Engineering and Manufacturing teams to build first articles, enable rapid design iteration, and capture critical lessons that shape how products mature into production. This is a hands-on role that demands resourcefulness, speed, and technical rigor. At Mach Industries, we are building decentralized, autonomous systems to maintain an allied American edge in modern warfare. As a Build Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in proving out design concepts through the initial manufacturing phase. Working with a world-class engineering team, you will bridge the gap between design and manufacturing, delivering solutions that ensure manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and mission-critical reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years in production manufacturing, process engineering, or industrialization (internship and school projects experience qualifies).
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and process capability.
  • Hands-on experience with shop floor processes (machining, welding, composites, additive manufacturing, assembly, test).
  • Willingness to be on the floor daily, working shoulder-to-shoulder with technicians.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other high-rate production environments.
  • Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguity with minimal documentation.
  • “Get it built” mindset with a bias for speed.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the engineering owner for prototype builds across multiple products.
  • Lead hands-on prototype builds on the shop floor, solving issues in real time.
  • Translate design intent into practical build steps, processes, and checklists for technicians.
  • Debug and resolve design/manufacturability issues directly with design engineers.
  • Actively participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability of design concepts.
  • Capture lessons learned and feed them back into the design and production system.
  • Source and coordinate quick-turn parts and prototype tooling.
  • Partner with technicians to train, enforce standard work, and improve safety/ergonomics.

Benefits

  • Health insurance
  • Retirement plans
  • Opportunities for professional development
