About The Position

Green Lake Conference Center (GLCC) is seeking a Buffet Line Server Team Member to serve as a front-line representative for the Dining Services Team. This role is responsible for ensuring a high standard of hospitality by providing excellent food service in a professional, friendly, and welcoming manner. The Buffet Line Server will assist in meal service preparation, maintain buffet presentation, and respond to guest needs to ensure a positive dining experience.

Requirements

  • Alignment with GLCC’s mission and values
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor, standing or walking, for extended periods.
  • Work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen and dining environment.
  • Exposure to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Dependable, responsible, reliable with a cooperative attitude, and a willingness to learn
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently, or part of a team, with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior kitchen or dining services experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Buffet Setup & Service: Set up, maintain, and clean serving/buffet lines for meal service.
  • Food Quality & Safety: Ensure hot food is served hot and cold food remains cold, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Guest Engagement: Provide friendly, knowledgeable service by answering guest inquiries about food choices and accommodating reasonable requests.
  • Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized serving area, following all health and safety regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Dining Team to monitor food production and ensure an efficient flow of service.
  • Equipment Maintenance Reporting: Identify and report any maintenance needs for Dining Services equipment to ensure reliable operation and to minimize downtime.
  • Work Area Organization: Maintain clean, orderly, and well-organized areas to enhance workflow efficiency and ensure easy access to supplies.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures when handling chemical, supplies, and operating equipment, ensuring a safe environment for employees, yourself, and guests.
  • Communication & Reporting: Effectively communicate with kitchen staff, fellow team members, and supervisors regarding any incidents, needs, or issues.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the overall operations of the Dining Services department.
