About The Position

Delaware North Sportservice is hiring a part-time Buffet Expediter at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts for our exclusive club called Rafters. As a Buffet Expediter, you are responsible for quickly responding to changing needs within the Rafters Studios. The primary role will be expediting food from the kitchen to the buffets in the studios. This will involve closely communicating with the kitchen, to ensure that there is food properly stocked during events. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience or training as a food expeditor with a similar style of dining, capacity, and volume preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to perform opening, mid and closing duties as outlined by management.
  • Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to maneuver between tables and around corners.
  • Ability to lift, balance and move large food trays, weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Visual acuity and hearing sufficient to take orders and prepare checks.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds for set-up, service, and clean-up.
  • Ability to stand or walk for the entire length of shift; may include walking up and down stairs.

Responsibilities

  • Attend pre-shift briefing, taking note of relevant information including service scheduling, organization, food and beverage, guest notes, etc.
  • Transport food from the kitchen to the studio pre, during and post event as quickly as possible.
  • Communicate with the kitchen and on shift supervisors when food is running low an needs to be replenished.
  • Remove remaining food and food vessels from the buffet pre, post and during the event.
  • Coordinate with Chef and kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food.
  • Be prepared to answer guest related questions on food and menu items.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, ingredients and preparations; be able to identify menu items and ingredients by appearance.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, co-workers and management.
  • Be able to perform opening, mid and closing duties as outlined by management.
  • Maintain kitchen and studio cleanliness and organization at all times.
  • Other duties assigned by management.
