About The Position

Set up and operate manual and/or automatic buffing machine. Perform hand buffing operations as required. Change fixtures, holders, and wheels so that required buffing quality is attained.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent education.
• Ability to cooperate with others and maintain positive communications.
• Must be competent in reading, writing, and arithmetic.
• Must have good eye hand coordination.
• Ability to consistently maintain concentration and focus on each item buffed.
• Must have valid forklift operator’s license.

Nice To Haves

• Prefer 1-3 years similar work experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and tend buffing machine(s) and observe machine operations to detect any problems, making necessary adjustments to correct problems.
• Produce quality items by buffing guns as instructed.
• Work from written or verbal instructions from Team Leader.
• Clean machines and area daily. Lubricate machines when necessary.
• Utilize Kan Ban process to: maintain required stock, reorder items and supplies, and move items through buffing process on to next production phase, e.g., to outside plating.
• Safely operate forklift as directed by Team Leader.
• Perform other related responsibilities as needed and as assigned.
• Achieve production standards as established by Management.
