About The Position

The Budtender greets and welcomes patients, helps patients with product selections, adheres to policies and procedures, and ensures a wonderful patient experience. This role involves advising patients on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis. The Budtender is expected to stay informed about new cannabis products and industry trends, process patient payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system, and maintain a clean and well-organized store. Responsibilities also include educating patients on the safe use of cannabis products, correctly weighing, packaging, and labeling products, verifying patient identification for legal age and credentials, managing cannabis product inventory, stocking the sales floor, and completing assigned opening and closing tasks while ensuring compliance with company and state policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass a background check and receive a facility agent card from the state.
  • Sound knowledge of cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Work well with other team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience working as a Budtender is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a wonderful experience for the patient.
  • Advises patients on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis.
  • Keepes abreast of new cannabis products on the market as well as the latest industry trends.
  • Processes patients’ payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Ensures that the store is always clean and well-organized.
  • Educates patients on the safe use of their selected cannabis product.
  • Correctly weighs, packages, and labels cannabis products, as required.
  • Checks patient’s identification documents to verify that they are of legal age and hold the necessary credentials needed to enter the dispensary and purchase product.
  • Takes inventory of cannabis products and ensures that the sales floor is adequately stocked.
  • Ensures that assigned opening and closing tasks are completed.
  • Maintains compliance by following the proper policies and procedures set by the company and the state.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
