About The Position
The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) is seeking a motivated student for an internship within the Budget Office. This role offers hands-on experience in research, analysis, preparation and administration of the annual budget, and gathering statistical data. The intern will gain experience with public budgeting best practices by conducting best practices review and learn to use Enterprise Resource Planning and budgeting software systems. The intern will participate in budgetary cost-savings studies and complete cost/benefit analysis. The ideal Budget Office Intern will possess strong research and analytical abilities, with the capacity to collect, interpret, and synthesize financial data. Attention to detail and critical thinking are essential for the role.
Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency planning and organizing working in an efficient manner.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other standard office equipment.
- Applicants must be a current graduate or undergraduate student seeking a degree in public policy, accounting, business administration or related field.
