About The Position

The Budget Manager will play a crucial role in the Finance team by assisting in the annual budget planning process, analyzing financial data, and monitoring budget performance. This position requires collaboration with management and staff to prepare comprehensive budget proposals and ensure that all operations remain within budgetary constraints. The Budget Manager will also be responsible for training staff in budget management practices and overseeing the finances of Affordable Housing Properties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
• 2-3 years proven experience in budgeting and financial management
• Experience in non-profit sector financials is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Highly proficient in Excel and other financial modeling tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Assist in annual budget planning process by collaborating with management & staff to prepare comprehensive budget proposals
• Analyze historical financial data to forecast future financials
• Monitor budget performance & provide timely reports to management on variances and financial trends
• Conduct regular meetings with departments to review budget status and recommend corrective actions when necessary
• Prepare contract status report regularly & other reports as directed by Finance management
• Assist in cost allocation process & manage the pool cost budget
• Train staff in budget management practices and tools
• Assist in designing effective budget models for departments
• Assist in the oversight of the Affordable Housing Properties' finances and prepare a summary report for review
• Assist in reviewing AR transactions
• Collaborate with Finance team and programs for contract close outs and year end closing
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
• Other Duties as assigned
