About The Position
The Budget & Coverage Analyst position at Tampa General Hospital involves providing comprehensive analysis of clinical research budgets and payer coverage under the supervision of the Research Finance Manager or the Lead Clinical Research Budget and Coverage Analyst. The role is critical in ensuring that all financial aspects of clinical research are managed effectively, aligning with the hospital's mission, vision, and values. The analyst is responsible for creating coverage analyses and full internal budgets for each study, identifying and communicating any funding gaps to management, and coordinating with study teams and ancillary/support units to establish accurate pricing for budgets. In addition to budget creation, the analyst will conduct budget negotiations with industry sponsors, grantors, and other funding sources, ensuring that all negotiations are in compliance with relevant billing rules and guidance. The position requires maintaining a thorough understanding of clinical research regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid billing practices, and the ability to interpret complex documents such as research contracts, study budgets, clinical protocols, and consent forms to extract necessary billing and coverage data. Regular attendance and the completion of related duties are essential to meet departmental and institutional goals.
