About The Position

The Budget Analyst at Telamon Corporation is responsible for providing high-quality support in the preparation, implementation, and control of program budgeting processes. This role ensures compliance with approved budgets and alignment with the agency's mission and program goals, while also providing critical information for assessing the feasibility of planned strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience.
  • Strong Excel skills including experience with pivot tables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and online client management systems.
  • Experience with Sage preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers data and prepares preliminary budgets including forecasts of expenditures and revenue.
  • Analyzes, evaluates and processes budget proposals from various programs.
  • Makes recommendations on budget allocations and works with the corporate office to maintain current allocations and chart of accounts.
  • Prepares and conducts budget presentations.
  • Consults with management staff on budget and budget narrative preparation, including modifications.
  • Compares actual to budgeted results at the end of each reporting period and reports on significant variances.
  • Updates the budget model as requested to account for significant changes in the funding environment.
  • Prepares reports and coordinates with corporate staff to support completion of reports to funding sources.
  • Monitors grant funding to ensure program compliance and stays current on funding source regulations and grant requirements.
  • Reviews and analyzes monthly financial and statistical reports to assess the budget status of center/offices and overall programs.
  • Reviews invoices for correct Program and General Ledger coding to assure accuracy of cost reporting.
  • Coordinates with staff when solicitation and review of bids are required to ensure compliance with agency and funding source procurement requirements.
  • Facilitates and engages in professional development activities to increase qualifications in accordance with Corporation's Core Values.
  • Ensures the mobilization and documentation of matching/in-kind funds, where applicable.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
