Monitors funding for various RFP’s put out by Director’s office, ensuring proper and timely spending Prepare and process day-to-day budget transfers entries as needed. Acts as liaison to Project Records for timely close out of accounts Manage State Appropriation Set Up and Returns Set up Revenue budget at beginning of year. Manage, monitor and reconcile federal appropriations. Ensure appropriate account set up, proper matching and close out. Assist in annual SF-425 reports for USDA-NIFA for the various federal appropriations Manage accounts, including account set up, close out of support accounts, reconciling each month and adjusting reserves Assist in managing agency program development funds and departmental commitments Assist units regarding budget allocations, budget transfers, account reconciliations, personnel actions, and compliance with agency procedures. Oversee Rate Sheet repository and rate studies by service centers Reconcile and work the Workday default account to clear payroll posting to appropriate spending accounts Process budget transfers and fund returns to sponsor on grant account close outs. Other job-related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of related experience
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to apply rules and regulations in a complex environment.
  • Ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accountant Standards Board (GASB).
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
