The MIL Corporation seeks a Budget Analyst (Budget Analysis, Sr Analyst) to support a federal government client in Washington, DC. Responsibilities include supporting budget formulation, budget presentation and budget execution requirements. Telework is authorized for this position with schedule based on client requirements. Remote work is not authorized for this position.

  • Assistance with budget formulation, budget presentation and budget execution.
  • Assistance with preparing budgetary schedules, justifications, reports and information as requested by the client and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).
  • Assist in preparing the budget submission for the client and obtaining the planning technical guidance/input where appropriate from client technical staff (legal, engineering, scientific).
  • Assist in preparing detailed financial and outlay plans for the client working closely with senior management on long range program planning to meet budgetary limitations.
  • Assist with the total accounting program of the client requiring the completion of necessary documents, details and forms to obligate, liquidate and adjust all funds.
  • Run tailored reports and prepare spreadsheets for keeping management up to date on status of budget execution.
  • 5 years supporting federal budget formulation and execution.
  • Familiarity with the Department of State's budget and financial systems (IBIS, GFMS, GBI).
  • Knowledge of U.S. Federal Government budget laws and regulations to assist in the preparation of annual budget and budgetary schedules, justifications, reports and information as requested by the Office of the Comptroller and the Office of Management and Budget.
  • Knowledge of budget execution and reporting methods including best management procedures.
  • Ability to run reports, review and analyze weekly and monthly funds status reports, monthly status of obligations reports and quarterly accrued expenditure reports.
  • Knowledge of methods to accurately record function and budget object codes in the system to run reports on expenditures.
  • Knowledge in the preparation of excel spreadsheets and experience reviewing financial data and information.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Must be highly organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills to interface with personnel and other government agencies at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
