The Biomedical Science Careers Program (BSCP) exists to increase the representation of individuals from underserved communities in science and medicine, while helping science-related industries and institutions build a more diverse workforce. We connect students from diverse backgrounds with mentors, resources, and experiences to overcome barriers to higher education and reach their full potential. BSCP also creates a community of support giving young people the confidence to achieve their most ambitious goals. Since our founding in 1991, we have supported more than 17,000 students from 41 countries, all 50 states, Washington DC, and Puerto Rico. BSCP is at an exciting juncture of growth, and we are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial fundraising professional to grow and lead our development program. As the first Associate Director of Development and Donor Engagement, you will be important in driving our mission by securing philanthropic support, building lasting relationships with funders, and advancing donor engagement efforts. This highly independent role reports directly to the Executive Director, under the leadership of the Dean for Diversity Inclusion and Community Partnership (DICP) at Harvard Medical School. It offers an opportunity to shape the future of BSCP's development program. The organizational budget is approximately $1.5 million annually, which is raised yearly from private philanthropy.
