The following is an outline of duties for a BSA Officer.

Responsibilities

Drafts and maintains policies and procedures and ensures that the policies are enforced or amended to meet changing conditions, rules, or statutes.
Performs duties of BSA Officer by educating personnel in the area of BSA, enforcing BSA regulations by reviewing Bank files and documents, explaining regulations to Bank personnel, and negotiating with regulators.
Maintains BSA Program and OFAC Program while making updates whenever there is a change. Ensuring annual review is completed including risk assessments.
Monitor and review high-risk accounts while utilizing the NuMonitor software. Ensure alerts are reviewed and any follow-up is completed as necessary.
Completes review and filing of all CTRs and SARs in accordance to the regulations including any reporting as necessary.
Prepares reports or training materials in accordance to regulatory timelines.
Responds to garnishments, levies, or subpoenas as necessary for the Bank.
Oversees the Electronic Banking Department
Participates in ongoing training and annual training requirements.
Follows attendance policies in compliance with the employer handbook.
Maintains customer confidence and protects Bank operations by keeping information confidential.
Contributes to team effort through sound leadership, helping others, setting a positive example, supporting bank policies, procedures, and management decisions, and maintaining positive customer relationships.
