You will contribute to investigations, regulatory compliance, and decision‑making that supports a secure and accountable financial environment. Your work will help ensure BECU’s BSA/AML/CFT Program remains effective as regulations and industry trends evolve. You will collaborate with partners across the organization to provide insights, support assessments, and guide risk‑aligned actions. Your contributions will directly support the safety and trust of BECU’s membership. WHAT YOU’LL DO: Monitor and review activity: Review transactions and account behavior to determine whether activities align with member profiles and comply with policies and regulations. Conduct examinations and investigations: Organize and complete internal examinations, investigations, and inspections to confirm adherence to BECU procedures and regulatory requirements. Prepare case documentation and SAR assessments: Investigate alerts, prepare case summaries, and document recommendations for potential Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) within required timeframes. Gather supporting materials: Compile relevant documents—such as statements, checks, and deposits—to support investigative conclusions and SAR recommendations. Support enhanced due diligence: Partner with the Due Diligence team to identify high‑risk members, products, and services and assist in implementing monitoring controls that address potential risks. Participate in member de‑risking processes: Assist in evaluating and documenting de‑risking actions for members who violate Membership Agreements or engage in financial crimes. Advise business partners: Provide guidance to business units on their responsibilities under BSA/AML/CFT requirements and help them understand how to identify and escalate potential concerns. Monitor emerging risks: Review industry trends and new business types to identify potential threats to the credit union and provide recommendations for appropriate mitigation measures. Escalate behavioral changes: Inform Program leadership of notable changes in member behavior that may indicate financial crime or heightened risk. Support regulatory and procedural updates: Assist with implementing new or updated procedures in response to changes in laws, regulations, or due diligence expectations. Respond to law enforcement inquiries: Provide appropriate information to law enforcement agencies regarding SAR‑related or BSA‑related requests. Support additional team initiatives: Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the BSA/AML/CFT Program. This isn’t just about ticking off tasks on a list.
