About The Position

As a key member of the After School middle school program, you will guide the success of middle school students by teaching a pre-written curriculum that will support their entry into a competitive high school at our Bronx Site:
Bronx Site: Urban Assembly for Applied Math and Science (1595 Bathgate Ave., Bronx, NY 10457)

Requirements

• Can demonstrate experience and results with similar responsibilities to those listed above
• Is passionate about forming relationships with middle school students
• Is a current undergraduate or graduate student or a recent college graduate
• Can commit to the entire Spring 2026 term and the calendar below
• Is confident with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in particular), Zoom, Google Drive, and comfortable learning new systems
• Demonstrates excellence in BTNY’s Core Values
• January 28th- April 29th: Program dates: Mondays and Wednesdays 4:00-7:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-written Test Prep curriculum twice weekly to middle school students that will cover the following topics: Reading and Math concepts (8th grade level), and Test-Prep Strategies
• Supporting with logistical aspects of the program and filling in when needed
• Learn and practice student management techniques and communicate with your Program Manager about student needs.
• Participating in bi-weekly check-ins with your Program Manager for professional development and mid-semester/end-of-semester evaluations
• Evaluating student output and tracking student performance
• Complete training PD sessions
• Other duties based on the BTNY site which you are assigned
