About The Position

The Brokerage Sales Rep is responsible for developing and growing a strong portfolio of clients through proactive prospecting, cold calling, and relationship management. Key duties include negotiating competitive rates, managing daily shipments to ensure on-time delivery, and addressing issues promptly to maintain exceptional service quality. This role is highly sales-driven and requires strong negotiation skills, clear and proactive communication, and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Brokerage Sales, ideally involving complex logistics or supply chain solutions.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and transportation.
  • Customer Focus: Skilled in managing client relationships, identifying needs, and delivering custom-tailored solutions.
  • Negotiation: Proven ability to close deals, negotiate contracts, and build long-term partnerships.
  • Market Insight: Awareness of industry trends, competitors, and customer demands.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of analyzing logistics challenges and providing innovative solutions.
  • Collaboration: Works effectively with internal teams—operations, customer service, and logistics—to ensure client needs are met.
  • Networking: Builds strong industry connections and represents the company at professional events.
  • Technology Skills: Proficient with CRM systems and sales analytics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Business Development - Independently research, identify, and pursue new business opportunities through credible sources and strategic cold outreach, consistently achieving or exceeding sales and load volume targets.
  • Industry Knowledge - Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry, including rate structures, carrier capabilities, equipment types, and evolving market trends.
  • Execution - Ensure accuracy and consistency in all internal tracking and reporting systems by maintaining up-to-date information throughout the day, supporting precise sales, performance, and operational metrics.
  • Convert qualified leads into active customers by building strong relationships, understanding client needs, and maximizing conversion opportunities.
  • Execute pricing strategies using effective negotiation techniques, market insights, and an understanding of customer purchasing behaviors.
  • Support the negotiation of contracts, terms, and conditions to secure profitable and sustainable business agreements.
  • Proactively engage with customers and cross-functional teams to meet client requirements and achieve company growth targets.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and service issues, managing conflicts with diplomacy and tact.
  • Reestablish relationships with inactive clients to generate renewed business opportunities.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network with potential customers and stay informed of industry developments.
