Requirements

  • Property & Casualty (P&C) License.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar role, with a preference for candidates with 3+ years of marketing broker experience and a proven track record of coding business.
  • Sales and prospecting experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational capabilities.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review new and renewal business applications to evaluate complex Excess & Surplus (E&S) risks and determine the placement of coverage.
  • Conduct agency and carrier visits, often outside the physical office location.
  • Perform brokerage work for complex E&S assignments, occasionally utilizing binding authority when appropriate.
  • Accept or decline risks and determine placement with various carriers using independent decision-making and discretion.
  • Actively prospect and generate new business through calls, written communication, and personal visits.
  • Manage and renew existing accounts while meeting production goals.
  • Network and develop expertise in defined market or industry segments.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control guidelines, including confirming quotes and binders in writing, issuing policies promptly and accurately, and adhering to state filing and tax requirements.
  • Implement methods for promoting policies and improving processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
