About The Position

The Broiler Tech Advisor I is responsible for providing technical assistance to producers caring for the company's birds, ensuring proper care and comfort. Key duties include advising producers on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation. The role involves farm visits to document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment settings, monitor bird health, and provide remedies when possible. Additional responsibilities include monitoring feed consumption, ordering feed as necessary, pulling blood and fat samples on time, coordinating chick placements, assisting with catch schedules, and ensuring communication between hatchery, feedmill, and livehaul regarding contract farms. The advisor ensures compliance with production contracts to produce high-quality, low-cost flocks and adherence to USDA and other government regulations when handling poultry. Collaboration with the Broiler and Breeder Departments for weekly chick placements and other duties as needed is also required.

Requirements

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience : Minimum of 1 year.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills such as checking electronic mail, entering data into document templates, or creating simple queries.
  • Travel : 1 to 5 trips per year.
