About The Position

This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to producers caring for the company's birds regarding the proper care and comfort. Duties would include, but are not limited to: Advising producers on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation. Visiting farms to document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment settings, monitor bird health, and provide remedy when possible. Monitoring feed consumption and ordering if necessary. Pulling blood and fat samples as required. Coordinating chick placements to farms. Assisting with catch schedules. Ensuring communication among Hatchery, Feedmill, and Livehaul departments regarding their contract farms. Ensuring compliance with the production contract to optimize flock quality and minimize costs. Ensuring adherence to all USDA and other government regulations regarding poultry handling. Working with the Broiler and Breeder Departments in coordinating weekly chick placements. Performing other responsibilities as the need arises.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an agricultural field or equivalent experience relevant to the position preferred.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a poultry or agriculture-related field preferred.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to convey information clearly and effectively through both verbal and written means.
  • Proficiency in active listening, ensuring mutual understanding, and adapting communication style to various audiences.
  • Basic computer skills such as checking electronic mail, entering data into document templates, or creating simple queries.
  • Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl.
