About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Assembler - Broetje Operator (Level B or C) to join the Automation Team in North Charleston, South Carolina on a Variable Shift! In this role you will perform routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical sub/assemblies using manual and automated processes. Primarily operate Broetje automated drilling and fastening equipment. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience, typical 1 year, is required. Select and load specified computer programs using a Windows based system, and monitor machine operations and parts quality. Initiate machine cycles and monitor run time performance. May load and unload assemblies, perform routine operator, preventive maintenance, as well as prepare and upkeep secondary systems (i.e., fastener cassette loading, and tool setting). Work in assigned manufacturing production department to learn and perform a variety of manual and automated operations including drilling and fastener installation on a variety of detail parts (aluminum/composite/titanium) while working from electronic models, manufacturing specifications, procedures, and instructions. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Requirements

  • Ability to work variable shifts; including day, evening, night and weekends.
  • 1+ years of experience with the ability predict, identify and resolve problems; the ability to gather and analyze information; and, a thorough knowledge of applicable company policies and government regulations.
  • 1+ years of experience of knowledge of a Windows-based computer operating system or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience setting up and operating Numerical Control (NC) equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Education/course work in Automation or robotics manufacturing, Numerical Control (NC) Programming, Technical Mathematics, Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology, Statistical and/or Quantitative Analysis.
  • 1+ year of experience working in the Aerospace Industry and one (1) year of work experience with drilling and/or fastener installation.
  • 1+ year of experience in aircraft structural drawings, machine shop mathematics, machine tool safety, appropriate Boeing Company Standards (BAC's) for fastener hole preparation and installation on aircraft structures.
  • 1+ years of experience of knowledge of machine set-up procedures, basic CNC operation skills, automated fastener feed systems, machine surveillance systems, and associated automated riveting tools.
  • 1+ years of experience with basic machine code knowledge.
