The Broadcast Solution Architect partners with Branch Sales Teams in various ways in a pre-sale technical role, providing technical consultancy and specialized support to augment the sales effort, giving demonstrations and technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects showcasing audio-visual solutions, explaining features/benefits to customers, and architecting solutions to meet specific customer needs. Direct customer interaction throughout the sales lifecycle may be required, communicating with all levels of staff and customers, ranging from project managers to corporate executives. This role leads development of Practice offers in response to, and anticipation of, market demand. In addition to technological aptitude, the Broadcast Solution Architect must have the ability to learn quickly and stay current with emerging technologies.

  • Operates as the primary or secondary contact between the Company and the Customer.
  • Exercises independent judgment to work with the end user (customer) of the system to design a solution architecture in accordance with the customer’s specific use case requirements.
  • Has the ability to lead consulting and development workshops with key customer stakeholders to identify business communication problems and desired outcomes.
  • Researches available hardware and software options.
  • Analyzes the capabilities of available hardware and software.
  • Designs a production solution of various hardware and software components which work together as one integrated solution, which will best meet the specific customer needs.
  • Previous experience in consulting, design, installation, operation and service of broadcast and postproduction solutions and media workflow.
  • Computer literacy skills supported by acknowledged broadcast industry software familiarity.
  • Communication, leadership, customer relation skills, and the ability to work independently and to be self-directed.
  • Knowledge of project financial reports, and the ability to control costs in the design and management of projects is essential.
  • 5+ years’ technical experience in the professional production industry with emphasis in system design and operation.
  • Expert level knowledge of both baseband and IP environments required.
  • Strong understanding of SMPTE solutions preferred.
  • Must understand the role various platforms and solutions play in live production and postproduction environments.
