The part-time Operations Technician at WBAL-TV is responsible for maintaining the technical integrity of the station's newscasts and on-air signals. Operating robotic cameras and audio console systems
Performing technical directing duties including switcher operation and graphics systems
Managing master control duties such as automation ingest and playout
Directing studio floor activities including handling props and maintaining set appearance
Maintaining and operating the studio lighting system
Assisting with remote and in-house production
Participating in regular system reboots and troubleshooting of control room and studio equipment
Learning essential job functions within the first 120-180 days

2+ years of experience as an operations technician at a commercial television station
Strong technical understanding of broadcast television systems and equipment
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication skills and teamwork
Willingness to work various shifts including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to lift 50 pounds

Related military experience
Experience with different broadcast equipment
