The Broadcast Engineer is responsible for operating, maintaining, updating, and repairing hardware and systems used for broadcasting and business operations. This role includes providing IT user support, maintaining broadcast technology, and ensuring minimal service interruptions during equipment failures. The engineer will also assist with installations and maintain the IT network and related equipment.

  • Operate, maintain, update, and repair broadcasting hardware and systems.
  • Provide IT user support and maintain IT equipment.
  • Maintain all broadcast technology and equipment for the station.
  • Install and test new systems and technical infrastructure for the station.
  • Minimize service interruptions during equipment/system failures by implementing solutions.
  • Set up and operate equipment and transmission links during outside broadcasts.
  • Assist with installations and maintain the IT network, switches, data backups, workstations, and printers.
  • Interpret and implement instructions from other station personnel.
  • Communicate with engineering and other teams to resolve equipment and system issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Technical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Minimum three years' experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment.
  • Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment.
  • Strong PC/MS Office experience.
  • Experience with fiber connectivity, production setups, A/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics systems, and editing systems.
  • Experience with digital transmitters, microwave equipment, and other broadcast-related equipment.
  • Significant experience evaluating, selecting, installing, servicing, and maintaining broadcasting industry equipment and IT systems.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
