About The Position

The SOC1 & Risk Program Lead at State Street Global Advisors is a pivotal role within the Business Risk Management Executive (BRME) team, responsible for managing operational and regulatory risks. This position involves overseeing the engagement with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the annual SOC1 report, as well as supporting various risk programs such as Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Control Assurance. The role requires collaboration with business leaders and compliance teams to maintain effective risk management practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of financial services experience in operational risk, compliance, or audit.
• Experience leading or supporting SOC1 or similar audit reports.
• Independent strategic thinker with knowledge of regulatory and operational risks.
• Strong organizational awareness and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to manage and coach teams for high-quality deliverables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and process mapping tools.

Responsibilities

• Support the business and its external auditor in planning, walk-throughs, and testing of SOC1 controls.
• Provide leadership for risk programs including RCSA and Control Assurance.
• Maintain subject matter knowledge related to business line activities and regulatory trends.
• Engage with BRME peers and leaders of other risk programs to develop risk priorities.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key business function leaders.
• Educate business stakeholders on program objectives and requirements.
