About The Position

The Briquet Plant Controller is responsible for participation in all financial and accounting operations at our three briquet manufacturing plants located in Salem, MO, West Plains, MO, and Crossville, TN. This position will be a key contributor over operations finance and accounting for our briquet plants improving financial analysis, financial reports, inventory controls, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cost savings, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 5-10 years of manufacturing accounting experience required.
  • Prior experience as a Plant Controller required.
  • Standard costing experience required.
  • Inventory costing, valuation and control experience is required.
  • Robust experience with the general ledger.
  • Experience with ERP systems required with experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with departments/production facilities/associates across Company.
  • Detail oriented and demonstrates commitment to accuracy.
  • Highly proficient in MS excel (e.g., data manipulation, pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
  • Proactive mindset that seeks continuous process improvement.
  • Takes initiative.
  • High-energy individual with a passion for the company and this role.
  • Ability to multi-task, balance multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Strong achievement focused and commitment to deliver results.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated clarity in spoken and written words.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting of plant financial results with key highlights, action items, and takeaways.
  • Analyzing plant financial results compared to budget and forecasts ensuring results are accurate, accrual accounting is maintained, and underlying issues are highlighted and communicated with recommendations for improvement.
  • Developing and improving plant inventory control processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Preparing month-end close journal entries.
  • Collaborating and developing plant budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyzing plant absorption and spending variance.
  • Developing and communicating recommendations for cost savings and improvements.
  • Participating in monthly cycle counts and annual audited physical inventory counts.
