About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Bridge Section Manager to join our Infrastructure - Bridge Team at our Columbus, OH office. CHA's bridge team has been recognized as one of the leading innovators in the industry. We are on the forefront of bridge design developing new solutions that reduce cost and maintenance and utilize accelerated bridge construction (ABC) techniques to reduce road closure impacts. We incorporate collaborative and diverse thinking with practical and cost-effective designs that responsibly improve mobility and safety throughout the United States. The Bridge Section Manager, an important technical leadership role at CHA, leads an effective and productive team of technical professionals. A Bridge Section Manager's success is measured by their team's technical quality, achieving team utilization targets, engaging, and motivating their team to go above and beyond, and effective management of project budgets. This key role organizes, directs, and coordinates activities associated with the project scope of work either individually or collectively with their team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum 15 years' progressive engineering experience required; previous project or team management experience preferred.
  • Bridge experience required.
  • OHDOT exposure preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to practically apply best practices.
  • Proficiency with MS Office software required.
  • Understand QA/QC procedures and basic business practices as well as laws related to engineering.
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.).
  • Completely familiar with and advocates for the company's standards for quality control and compliance.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of fundamentals in specialty areas.
  • An active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead a team.
  • Technically astute and strategic in thinking to manage the activity within the team.
  • An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A high energy, results-oriented, resourceful leader.
  • Ability to resolve matters timely and lead projects to completion with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, build and manage relationships across the company.
  • Experience with project budgeting preferred.
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of accounting processes.

Benefits

  • Salary range: $149,040 - $178,200 based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
