About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Bridge Project Engineer III to be based in AECOM's Minneapolis / St. Paul, Minn. office. This full-time position will support the bridge practice at the Minneapolis / St. Paul, Minn. team location. This career enhancing position will involve performing transportation structure design analysis, including plan preparation of structures in Minnesota, and exposure and contributing to project work throughout the Western U.S. This important role offers participation in a variety of challenging projects and a dynamic work environment due to the number, type and size of bridges that make up the vast portfolio of the experienced bridge group this engineer will be joining. Requirements

  • BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Ability to pass MVR check.

Nice To Haves

  • PE licensure.
  • 6+ years of demonstrated regional, local or state bridge design project work.
  • MS in Structural Engineering with emphasis of Bridge Design course work highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standard computer software such as OpenRoads and OpenBridge (highly preferred). Also, Civil3D, Microstation, LEAP Bridge Concrete, MDX, CSiBridge, Midas, STAAD, AASHTOWare etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, develop technical reports and document client communications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare structural designs, plans, specifications and cost estimate for transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures.
  • Support inspection projects
  • Provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts and structure type analysis evaluations.
  • Use current engineering design software.
  • Coordinate with other design teams and disciplines.
  • Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered.
  • Identify discrepancies in results.
  • Provide guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
